The Ranking committee has implemented a ranking structure, that was effective September, 2012. The former ranking points system has not changed, but what has been introduced is the ranking numbers that determine which division a player is entitled to enter. Players may enter any division above their ranking, but may not enter any division below their ranking. This allows players to play up, but not down.
The pointís categories for each level of play are as follows:
Menís Divisions (ranking range)
Open - 1-15
Elite - 16-30
A - 31-109
B - 110-189
C/D - 190-259
Womenís Divisions (ranking range)
Open - 1-12
A - 13-19
B - 20-49
C/D - 50 & Above
These levels of play are primarily for the Senior National Tournament, and are not to be construed as mandatory for Provincial events. It is hoped that this will be a guide to assist Provincial Tournament Directors to help determine their seeding. It is recognized that an A player in a Province is not necessary an A player at the National level.
The National Draw Master and/or National Tournament Director will still have the right to discuss an entrantís level of entry, should he/she feel the player has entered an unsuitable division.
