Coaching CertificationRacquetball Canada received FINAL APPROVAL for its Community Coaching Manual. This process of developing the manual and seeking approval of it has been going on for more than two years guided by RC's Technical Director, Lori-Jane Powell. There is now a database set-up with the Coaches Association of Canada (CAC), so everyone should receive credit for taking the course, including those who participated in the one of the pilot courses over the past three years. We also have certificates for people who have earned them, so if you have participated in a RC coaching clinic recently and would like a certificate, please contact Powell (see below). If you have participated in an RC coaching clinic, please check for your name and certification on the CAC website. Powell would like each clinic participant to check on-line to see if your own name and certification are posted. You will need a Coaching Card (CC#), so if you don't have one, contact Powell for help. In addition, past Course Conductors and new Learning Facilitators need to check the web site to make sure your past clinics have been entered. Powell wants to get this all caught up and entered over the summer, so please let her know if you need help or find anything missing. Eleven Ontario coaches received "Trained" status in the new NCCP Community Racquetball Coach Course at a coaching clinic at the Racquet and Fitness Academy in Etibicoke, Ontario June 16-18, 2006. Those eleven coaches are: Anthony Barraco, Tony Barraco, Patti Bartolucci, Tim Davey, Tony Dawson, Ed King, Joanne Kuczynski, Sue Philips, Gus Rojas, Michael Rojas, John Ursino. Further, congratulations to Sue Swaine who was "Certified" as a Learning Facilitator. Adrian Webb also completed part of the Facilitator Training on the weekend, which will help him towards becoming certified as well.
