The award will be available for presentation on an annual basis, if applicable, based on selection of deserving nominees, who have made noteworthy contributions at the national or provincial level.

Criteria

The nominee must have made a significant contribution to the sport over a period of not less than four years.

A person who receives the Ivan Velan Award in one category is ineligible for nomination in that category a second time. He or she may be nominated for another category which he or she has not previously won.

Contributions to areas, other than the one in which a candidate has been nominated, may be taken into consideration when evaluating a nominee.

Categories

Administrator/Builder : the nominee must have made a contribution to the organization, that advanced the sport of racquetball at the national or provincial level.

Official : the nominee must have contributed to the advancement of officiating in racquetball at the national or provincial level.

Coach : the nominee must have contributed to the deveopment of coaching at the National or Provincial level; or in the development of outstanding athletes at the international, national or provincial level

Player : the nominee must have contributed to the promotion or recognition of racquetball through his or her achievements or activities, as a player of the sport at the international, national, or provincial level.

Administration

The executive committee will invite nominations for the Ivan Velan Award by March 1, of each year. Nominations will be accepted from provincial sport governing bodies, committees, clubs, or individual members, until April 1 of each year. The nominations must be accompanied by the following material:

The Executive Committee will make the selection based on material received, and the award will be presented, in the presence of the general membership at either the Annual General Meeting, or the Senior National Championships Dinner.

President Awards

Significant volunteer contributions to Racquetball Canada will be recognized by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. General awards are intented to acknowledge and reward service by those individuals who may not be covered by the Ivan Velan award, or who may not qualify, or who are ineligible for said award.

The form of recognition and timing will depend on each specific set of circumstances, and may be from internal or external sources.

Women's Award

Recognition of contribution of persons advancing women in racquetball. This award can go to a man or woman. The woman's committee will take the nominations and the approval will be given by the Executive and Board of Racquetball Canada.

Coaching Award

Nominations are invited by the coaches committee for Racquetball Canada's coaching excellence award. One male and one female coach can be nominated each year. Coaches must have completed a minimum of NCCP level 1 or CBET equivalent. Coaching committee recommends to the Executive and Board.

Long Term Service Award

Nominations are invited by the Executive and Board for the Long Term Service Award. This award will be to recognize long service to the sport for nominees who do not qualify for the Ivan Velan, Recommendations will be made by the Executive and Board.

Ce prix pourra être remis à chaque année, si applicable, selon la selection des candidates méritants ayant contribué au sport d'une manière remarquable au niveau national ou provincial.

Une personne qui reçoit le prix Ivan Velan dans une catégorie ne peut pas être nominee dans cette meme catégorie une seconde fois. On peut presenter sa candidature pour une catégorie autre que celle dans laquelle cette personne a gagné.

Les contributions dans des domains autres que celui pour lequel la personne est en nomination peuvent être prises en consideration lors de l'évaluation du candidat.

Administration

Le Conseil de direction acceptera les nominations pour le prix Ivan Velan à partir du 1er mars de chaque année.

On acceptera les nominations de la part de corps dirigeants du sport provinciaux, de comités, de clubs ou de members individuals jusqu'au 1er avril de chaque année. Les candidatures doivent être accompagnées des documents suivants:

Le Conseil de direction choisira le lauréat à partir des documents reçus et le prix sera remis en présence des members à l'assemblée générale annulle ou lors du diner des championnats nationaux seniors.

Prix du president

Les grandes contributions bénévoles au profit de Racquetball Canada seront reconnues par le Conseil de direction et le Conseil d'administration. Les prix généraux ont pour but de souligner et de récompenser les services des individus qui ne correspondent peut-être pas aux categories du prix Ivan Velan, qui sont inadmissibles ou ineligibles au prix ci-nommé.

Le type de reconnaissance et la date de presentation dépendront des circonstances particulières de chaque cas et peuvent être de source interne ou externe.

Prix destines aux femmes

Souligner la contribution des personnes ayant favorisé l'avancement des femmes dans le racquetball. Ce prix peut être accordé à un homme ou une femme. Le comité des femmes recevra les nominations et l'approbation sera accordée par la direction et le Conseil d'administration de Racquetball Canada.

Prix des entraîneurs

Le Comité des entraîneurs acceptera les nominations pour le prix d'Excellence en entraînement de Racquetball Canada. Un entraîneur et une entraîneure peuvent être nominees à chaque année. Les entraîneurs doivent détenir au minimum la certification PNCE niveau 1 ou l'équivalent EFAC. Le Comité des entraîneurs présentera ses recommendations à la direction et le Conseil d'administration de Racquetball Canada.

Prix Service de longue date

La direction et le conseil d'administration accepteront les nominations pour le prix Service de longue date. Ce prix soulignera le service de longue date envers le sport pour les candidates qui ne sont pas admissibles au prix Ivan Velan. Les recommendations doivent être présentées par la direction et le Conseil d'administration de Racquetball Canada.
